Toast the good times in your garden
This November, there’s still lots to do in gardens, despite the cold weather. Sometimes though, it’s hard to leave the comfort of your chair when it’s chilly. We’ve got some reasons to get outside this issue, so wrap up and embrace the season.
There are even some ideas on persuading your friends and family to join you in your garden for a toast this Christmas (more details below!).
Enjoy!

Winter soldiers
Viola are hardy flowers which can withstand cold weather and bloom throughout winter. Blossoming in all kinds of different colours, these flowers are a fantastic way to keep your garden cheerful.
A versatile outdoor space!
The time for hosting the family is nearly upon us, with Christmas and New Year just around the corner, so why not get ahead and design your very own outdoor bar!
Outdoor bars are a great way to have some fun in the garden throughout the colder months and they don’t have to be literally ‘outdoors’. An unused, existing building could be converted or you could have a bar purpose-built, with heating and lighting to keep everyone cosy. And, if you add large windows, you can enjoy garden views all winter long, with a warming drink in your hand.
There are a variety of building companies, like this one, which can create a space that is perfect for you and your guests, and give it that wow factor. And contact us for landscaping tips and design work to personalise your surrounding garden, making it something you’ll love forever!
A month of activities
This November, why not visit Gatton Park near Reigate? You could get into the festive spirit with a wreath-making class, enjoy activities with the family – or just enjoy a wander through the gardens. They were designed by Lancelot Capability Brown, so you can lose yourself in the beautiful landscape on a late autumn walk.
Create a wildlife haven in your garden
Now is the most important time to ensure your garden is wildlife friendly, as the winter cold really starts to set in. The RHS website has great tips on how to support all kinds of wildlife during the winter. And, if you want to look after our prickly friends the hedgehogs, here’s some useful advice from the RSPCA.
Bushy Beverage
Embrace the chill with a warm twist on a classic Whisky Mac this November, which only requires 3 ingredients! Simply add 25ml of ginger wine to 40ml of your favourite scotch, pour over ice and serve with a strip of lemon zest.
Until next time!
Here at Bushy, we’re all about creating and maintaining gardens, so you can enjoy them the way you want too. Do chat to us for information on making your outside space a special place.
