Live large this season
Big is currently big news, with the likes of bamboo climbing to the top of the popularity charts for providing screening and shade outside. Inside, the large, statement specimens like cheese plants, rubber plants and yuccas are having a revival and provide a cool look to any home.
A spin on the BBQ
I’ve always fancied doing one of those fancy rotisserie BBQs and this video from Riverside shows how you can cook mouthwatering chicken wings and drumsticks with a Mississippi sauce – perfect for satisfying the biggest appetite! Watch here.
Just hanging …
Hanging baskets are always an attractive addition in both front and back gardens to add some vibrant colour.
Wild times with insects
If you’re one of the many people who like to encourage wildlife to your garden, insect houses are a great way to see bees and bugs. You can buy this one from the RSPB.
Bushy Beverage
The apéritif is ‘having a moment’ and makes for a refreshing drink on a warm day. The Martini Fiero, a blend of white wines and botanicals including Spanish orange peel, is mixed with tonic water and served over plenty of ice. Available from stores, including The Whisky Exchange online.
